If you look around the world today - it is discouraging for Christians. It's been called clown world and trash world. But basically, what we are seeing is the result of people trying to live without Christ and his rule.
It can be very discouraging. Many Christians have settled into the stance that they should withdraw from the world. Just hunker down and pray and hope nobody notices.
That is definitely a good way to be a worthless servant. We have been given tools to be used by Christ to make a difference.
We need to remember that Jesus condemned the servant who had one talent and buried it in a field because he was afraid he might lose it.
So here are Seven things you can do to make a difference. No, they are take up weapons and try to overthrown the government - at lease not with weapons you buy from a store.
Instead we use gospel weapons.
Some of the things that we can do are pray and sing the psalms. If you're not familiar with the psalms, you will be shocked by some of the content. In most hymnals, you will find no mentions of enemies. Most hymns are about salvation, getting to heaven, loving people. But when you open the book of Psalms, you find many references to enemies and calls for God to conquer these enemies.
I know that Jesus called us to love our enemies - but that implies we actually have enemies.
And often the most loving thing you can do for an enemy is stop them from going deeper into sin. Yes, that may mean turning them over to the law so they can stop their criminal activity.
