Expect the Unexpected
I ran a mile - quite successfully - except for the end. When I cross the finish line I succeeded in tripping on the flat sidewalk and seriously scraping up my leg. I have been told that's what you should expect as you get old. :-(
We also had a cancelled party at our church.

I went to it anyway expecting no one to be there. Everyone who had said they would come - couldn't. So instead, we had twenty people show up!

Life is strange. Just when you think you have it all under control - ...
But the reality is that we really don't have control of our circumstances.
The Bible clearly teaches that God is in control.
13Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 14yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” 16As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. James 4:13-17 ESV
James tells us that we don't know what tomorrow will bring.
Some people say, "When I get old, I'll get right with God." But you don't know if you will wake up alive tomorrow.
It could be that before you finish this blogpost that you will be standing before the judgment seat of God. Will you be ready then because you have put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ?
